And it is DONE! For the time being I'll leave all the contest information up while I wait for one more entry to be completed (I knew it was coming long before the deadline so it's all good) but this first round of dART: Unleashed! is completed! Huge turn out too for a first time. Love it.

I fully intend to do more of these, and make it more fair for everyone involved, but for now, I wish to thank everyone who participated in this one and for being good sports by showing off your characters. It might be a week before winners are announced (have to work that out with Missy and the whole judging thing) but there shall be winners.

And there shall be much celebrating. Yay.

Long talked about, finally implemented. It is DeviantART: Unleashed!

What is it?: Ever wanted to show what your original character could do? This is not a contest for existing comic, TV, movie or book characters such as Batman or Spawn...this is one for YOURS. DeviantART Unleashed!

What do I do?: Create an image of your character in a moment of extreme emotion or action, or both, showing what your character is truly capable of in the best detail possible that you can provide.

Concept comes from the Star Wars Unleashed figures from Hasbro.

Who can enter?: Anyone who's got a character and wants to draw'em up, color them, paint them, what have you.

How do I enter?: Just send a note with a link to your entry, or post the link in this journal. That's all there is to it.

What is allowed: Only original characters are allowed. No Superman, no Iron Man. YOUR men and women, boys and girls, mutants or aliens, showing off their range of emotion or their mad skills or both. Unleashed!

Types of images are as follows:
Sketched
Inked
Colored
Painted

Also, just to keep things simple for now, one entry per character per person. So if you have ten characters, you can potentially have ten entries. But no extra images of the same character, and no collages of all of them. They can be facing off against someone, that's fine. But not against another of your characters (use a red shirted guy from Star Trek or a stormtrooper from Star Wars...they're always being shot up ).

Oh yes, just because you could have up to ten images (one for each of your ten characters) entered, doesn't mean you get to win more than once. You win 1st Place, and that's it. Nothing more. You can have your ten shots at it, but you only get one win.

Duration: It starts March 1st and ends April 5th.

Prizes: Here are the following prizes, provided by DeviantART itself.

1st Place: 25$ devcash + 1 year sub
2nd Place: a lanyard and 3 month sub
3rd Place: keychain and 1 month sub
